Specialist Prosthodontist
Farid Fahid is recognised by the General Dental Council as a specialist in prosthodontics.
He has a wonderfully gentle way of carrying out dental treatment. His patients love his calm, careful and unhurried approach and his meticulous attention to detail. He will always take the time to be sure that every concern has been discussed and every question answered.
Like all his specialist colleagues in this practice, his care for his patients includes ensuring that treatments are pain free. He will always use a ‘minimal intervention’ approach when restoring teeth, to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible.
His main interest is in restoring teeth to their full size and shape with natural shade materials. Patient’s often come and see Farid because their teeth have often become worn down either through a grinding habit or erosion from dietary acids. He will assess the causes of the problem, including analysing the way the teeth bite together and the action of the jaw joint (the tempero-mandibular joint, referred to as the ‘TMJ’).
He also gets great satisfaction from helping patients who need improved partial or full removable dentures.
Farid qualified from Kings College London in 1998 and worked for many years in general dental practice and the hospital service before specialising in prosthodontics. He gained his MFDS, MRCPS and MRD at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow and completed with distinction his Master’s in Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics at the highly respected Eastman Dental Institute in London. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
