• What is removable aligner treatment?

  With Invisalign treatment, this is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. Opposed to traditional fixed braces, there are no restrictions, brackets or wires.

• How long will my treatment take?

  Treatment times are different for everybody and depend on a number of factors. For instance, how complex your case may be and how compliant you are with wearing your aligners 20-22 hours per day. Your Invisalign provider at 76 Harley Street will be able to determine the length of treatment and how many aligners you will need to complete the course. On average however, most complete treatment between 12-18 months though some can finish from just 6 months.

• How many appointments will I need during the treatment process?

  Your Invisalign provider will most likely need to see you every 4-6 weeks. These appointments are required so that the doctor can ensure you’re on track and your treatment is progressing as planned.

• How often will I change aligners?

  Your specialist will outline how often you will be required to change to a new aligner and this can of course vary on each individual’s treatment plan. On average, our Invisalign providers usually recommend changing aligners between one to two weeks at a time.

• Am I guaranteed a straighter smile?

  An initial consultation with any of our Invisalign providers is invaluable and paramount to understanding what outcome you can expect with removable aligner treatment. This is an opportunity to share your treatment goals and the specialist will do their utmost to achieve this for you. In some cases, removable aligner treatment may not be appropriate to guarantee the best results and other orthodontic treatment may be advised.

• Can I have removable aligners on just my top or bottom jaw and not both?

  Removable aligner treatment options are available for just your upper or lower teeth. Your specialist will recommend the best course of action for you.

• I’ve heard you may require small attachments on the teeth?

  For the best results, you may require small tooth-coloured attachments to your teeth which help serve as handles in supporting the aligners and directing the teeth to their new position. These attachments are barely noticeable and the aligners fit smoothly and securely around them. 

  Depending on complexity, some patients do not require attachments and you do require them, these will be outlined to you in advance and will be attached at the start of treatment.

• What is IPR & will I need it?

  Interproximal Reduction (IPR) is a common orthodontic procedure used to create space between teeth. It involves the removal of a small amount of enamel from the sides of certain teeth to address crowding, improve alignment, or enhance the bite’s overall fit. This minimally invasive technique is carefully planned to ensure your teeth remain strong and healthy. Your Invisalign provider will inform you before commencing treatment whether IPR will be necessary as part of your orthodontic treatment plan.

  Why Is IPR Necessary?

  IPR is often recommended as part of orthodontic treatment to:

  • Relieve Crowding: When there isn’t enough room in your jaw for all your teeth to align properly, IPR creates the necessary space.

• What are the primary benefits of Invisalign treatment?

  Due to the small amount of movement, there will be less pressure on the teeth causing less irritation, pain and discomfort as compared to wearing other forms of orthodontic braces. • Can I spread the cost of treatment?

  We understand teeth straightening treatments aren’t the cheapest so we have provided an interest free payment plan to help you spread the cost. 

  Enclosed within your treatment report following your initial assessment with one of our Invisalign providers, we will provide a payment plan option for you. Usually, the practice requires a third to be settled in advance to begin your treatment and the remaining sum can be spread over 9-12 months via direct debit monthly instalments.
